If you've been diagnosed with bowel cancer, you may be eligible for a range of funded services to help with the practical side of treatment and recovery. These services are available across New Zealand and are provided at no cost to you.
Counselling
Free professional counselling for whānau to help process the emotional impact of a diagnosis.
Transport
Help getting to and from treatment appointments, including fuel vouchers and volunteer driver services.
Accommodation
Free or subsidised accommodation near treatment centres for those who need to travel for care.
Home help
Assistance with household tasks like cleaning, cooking, and gardening while you focus on your recovery.
Lymphoedema treatment
Access to funded lymphoedema assessment, compression garments, and physiotherapy if you develop swelling after treatment.
Wig & headwear services
Funded wigs, scarves, and headwear for people experiencing hair loss during chemotherapy treatment.
